Unit 2: The brief

Notes taken from the initial meeting with Bromley

       General information on Bromley wedding service:
      There are 6 choices of rooms at the Civic Centre
      13 Approved venues are available in Bromley (+ 1 more venue will join soon)
      High season: May ~ September
      Bromley Registry Office attends to wedding fairs (twice a year)
      Customer’s decision making on the room selection: guest size à price à style and interior ( in order of importance)
      They are not willing to spend money for advertising
      A new brochure for ceremonies was out (ceremonies for different occasions)

       Positive activities:
      The Civic Centre building is located in an accessible area
      They have historic buildings
      The Rose Room has been newly re-decorated
      Smaller weddings are possible at the Civic Centre
      They provide personalized and friendly service
      Low price segment (office: 45 Pounds, civic centre: up to 460 Pounds)
      There are enough parking space available
      Good relationship between approved venues (venue meeting in every month)

       Challenges:
      The number of wedding ceremony in the borough Bromley (in registry office, civic centre, approved venue ) is decreasing
      The number of civil partnerships ceremony is decreasing
      There is no brand identity for the Bromley wedding service
      The website is not user-friendly
      Often miss the opportunity to reach potential customers (couples come to the office in the later stage after finding a wedding venue)
      The budget for operation is limited
      The number of staff is not sufficient
